Making real change.

Expanded Education

One of our goals is to educate the Phoenix community about Narcan. These education efforts include tabling at events, giving presentations, and having discussions with leadership teams.

Greater Distribution

Our other main goal is to provide access to Narcan and other valuable resources on overdose prevention. We are aiming to give out Narcan at community or private events.

Who we are

Narcan4Life is a nonprofit organization based out of Phoenix, Arizona. Our goal is to get Narcan into everyone's hands to help reduce deaths by opioid overdose.

The facts

In 2023, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated that there were 107,543 drug overdose deaths in the United States with 74,702 of these deaths coming from synthetic opioids (fentanyl). In other words 69% of the deaths in the United States in 2023 were a result of synthetic opioids.

How can Narcan help?

Narcan, also known as Naxolone, is a life saving drug that has the capability of reserving an opioid overdose. Unfortunately, Narcan isn’t as widely distributed as it should be. Narcan is a drug that can easily be used by any common, non-medical person. It has been reported that the drug has a  75-100% rate of reversing opioid overdoses and reducing mortality.

While this treatment is extremely effective, less than 10% of people who are in need of Narcan are receiving the drug.

Statistics show that most opioid overdoses are witnessed by another person. 70% of the overdoses happen in the home, where a possibility of someone being in the vicinity is likely. A bystander equipped with Narcan could reverse these overdoses.
